Who we are

QuillBuster LLC operates quillbuster.com and the QuillBuster application. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for information collected through this website and product.

What we collect

We keep collection narrow and tie every item to a purpose.

• Account details. Name, email address and password hash, so you can sign in.
• Content you create. Source text, briefs and generated drafts stored in your library.
• Billing details. Handled by our payment processor. We store the plan, the status and the last four digits of a card — never the full number.
• Usage data. Pages viewed, features used and error reports, in aggregate, to find what is broken.
• Support messages. Whatever you send us, kept so we can follow up.

In this static build, no server receives any of the above. Drafts and preferences live in your browser's local storage only.

How we use it

To run the service, to bill you, to answer support requests and to understand which parts of the product are used. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We do not use customer content to train machine learning models, ours or anyone else's.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on contract for running your account, legitimate interests for security and product improvement, consent for marketing email and non-essential cookies, and legal obligation for tax and accounting records.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers for hosting, payment processing, transactional email and error monitoring. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and may only act on our instructions. A current list is available on request.

How long we keep things

Account data is kept while your account is open and for 30 days after closure. Library content is deleted when you delete it, or within 30 days of account closure. Invoices are kept for seven years because tax law requires it. Aggregated analytics are kept for 24 months.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict processing, object to processing, or ask for it in a portable format. Write to hello@quillbuster.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with the outcome you can complain to your local data protection authority.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism.

Children

QuillBuster is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

Material changes are announced by email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
